Why “True Cross Designs”?

“What’s in a name?!”, as Shakespeare famously pondered.  The name True Cross Designs is deeply rooted in scripture. Matthew 16:24 reads, "Then Jesus told his disciples, 'If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me'". This passage emphasizes that following Jesus requires a deliberate choice to prioritize faith and commitment over personal desires, material temptations and worldly comfort. It calls for a daily commitment to deny self-interest, embrace the challenges of following Christ, pick up our crosses and bear them.

Similarly, Matthew 10:38 says, "Whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me." This verse is a call to discipleship, urging believers to embrace suffering and self-denial as they follow Jesus Christ.

My hope is that our art will inspire you to live our faith boldly in a world so desperately in need of beauty, and that by doing so, many will come to believe in our Lord, take up their crosses and follow Him.

Where the Old Ways Join the New

In starting True Cross Designs, our aim was to reimagine Christian home décor through the comingling of traditional and contemporary design. Certainly, traditional pieces have their allure, but we found tremendous inspiration in the sleek lines and fresh aesthetics of a modern, organic hardwood design.

With a passion for interior aesthetics, we set out to create a collection that seamlessly integrates Christian art and iconography into modern day homes, adding warmth and reverence to any space.

*NOTE: the rough lumber from which our frames are crafted is a commodity. Like other commodities, lumber prices are subject to fluctuation based on supply and demand, seasonal factors, and global economic conditions. Our pricing structure varies based on the current market price of the specific wood species of the frame. If one frame is more or less expensive than another, it is a direct result of the cost to us of the species from which the inner and outer frames are crafted. Any additional variation in pricing is a result of the specific crucifix we have added to the piece, as some of the crucifixes we incorporate into our works are more or less expensive than others.
