How it all began...

My wife, Melissa, and I, along with our two gifts from God, Matthew and Samantha, founded True Cross Designs as a family in early August 2024.

Our family was gifted a beautiful woven tapestry of the Marian Apparition known as Our Lady of Guadalupe by a priest who is a dear friend. Melissa wanted to hang the tapestry on a wall in our home, but couldn't find a frame worthy of such a special depiction of our Blessed Mother.

At the time, I was working as a professional woodworker for a large custom woodworking business in Knoxville, and Melissa asked me if I could build something very special in which to display the tapestry. Melissa described the design she was envisioning. Unbeknownst to us at the time, the end result would become the first ever piece of True Cross Designs art, which can be viewed here.

The moment we hung the frame on our wall and stepped back to look at it, something came over both of us. We became overwhelmed with a sense of peace and calm. It was as though we were in the presence of something deeply spiritual. We just stood there together adoringly gazing upon it. This was in July of 2024 and there has not been a single day since that I have not stopped at some point throughout my day to take in a moment of silence, or pray in front of Our Blessed Mother, or just stop for a moment to observe that spectacular work of art we created. Our home is now graced with 3 different TCD works of art that we lovingly display for our family, and for all who enter our beloved home.

We both felt so strongly we had just stumbled onto something truly profound. We did some research and discovered that there was absolutely nothing out there like the frame we had designed and created; nothing with such a unique take on Christian faith; nothing in our particular style; nothing that was handmade in the USA from such spectacular, high-end hardwoods. There was just nothing like it. It brought such a powerful sense of peace, reverence and beauty into our home that it immediately became something we wanted to share with everyone. And now that we have, the rest is in His hands...
